Leading edge touchscreen technology is provided as standard on all JAOtech Smart Terminals™ ensuring a rapid, accurate interaction with the Smart Terminal™. To interact with the terminal you can use a fingertip, gloved fingers, stylus or credit card. JAOtech Smart Terminals™ provide exceptional display image quality utilising the latest industrial grade TFT flat panel technology. The careful selection of display technology means that JAOtech are able to provide high brightness and contrast ratios. Also incorporated are anti-glare coatings for improved screen visibility, ideal for when the Smart Terminals™ are positioned in brightly lit environments.

4 external USB ports and a custom D Type accommodate a variety of external peripherals available from the front and rear of the terminal. The rear connectivity integrates Power, LAN, RJ11, Coax, USB 2.0 and video/audio in. Audio in/out is provided via a headphone or speaker jacks. Alternatively the integrated stereo speakers can be utilised for audio output.

High bright LED’s are visible from all angles of the terminal. These indicators are either positioned on the top corners of the casing or integrated into the top housing of the translucent Smart Terminal™ case. LED activation can be used to indicate incoming calls, warning indicators etc

Unique heatsink designs ensure that JAOtech Smart Terminals™ benefit from fanless operation, ensuring higher reliability and quiet operation. These solutions provide complete thermal management for the bespoke range of embedded platforms used in the JAOtech Smart Terminal™ range.

Front face IP65 sealing is provided to protect against the ingress of fluids and dust encountered in many demanding environments. The rear design of the JAOtech Smart Terminals™ comply to IP 54 standards whilst maximising natural convection cooling inlets and exhausts and avoiding fluid ingress by practical and innovative designs.

The Smart Terminal™ system architecture utilises many multimedia features including video and voice over IP, web camera/video, and stereo audio. Advances in hardware decoding ensure that the processor utilisation is minimised for high powered graphic and multimedia applications. Hence, a viable price performance solution can be achievable in parallel with a well designed software application. The latest audio and display technology contribute to the complete multimedia experience available with the JAOtech Smart Terminal™ range.

The software applications for the JAOtech Smart Terminals™ are constantly expanding, and include user software development kits in both Windows and Linux operating system environments. This support helps with the development and integration of new platforms and will allow the user to customise their application and deliver differentiated services around a common hardware platform.

Integrated mini-PCI slots enable advanced, high-speed wireless connectivity, Bluetooth and WiFi options ensure that the Smart Terminals™ can integrate the latest wireless technology. Biometric sensors can be integrated onto the terminal for finger print recognition. Anti tamperproof construction avoids damage to the system when installed remotely.
