Press Release: JAOtech introduces new telescopic ceiling mount arm
11th August 2008
The new Arcos 4200 telescopic ceiling mount from JAOtech provides further flexibility for installing patient bedside terminals in challenging areas

JAOtech has widened its range of Smart Terminal mounting solutions to include a new adjustable, telescopic ceiling mount. This enables easy installation of patient bedside infotainment terminals from ceilings of whatever height, where limited or unsuitable wall space is an issue.

The new Arcos 4200 from JAOtech provides a flexible and efficient mounting solution for JAOtech’s range of multimedia Smart Terminals for patient bedside entertainment, education and communication. The new telescopic ceiling mount has an easy functional movement, can be adjusted to accommodate different ceiling heights and offers a neat storage solution for when the terminal is not in use.

Dual arm mounting options are available to accommodate more than one terminal per ceiling mount. The ceiling mounts and arms are easily adjustable without the need for dismantling and are covered in an anti-bacterial plastic which can be readily cleaned to hospital standards.

The ceiling mount can accommodate both the Arcos 1000 and 2000 arms. The Arcos 2000 incorporates a patented clutch that gives way under load in a controlled manner as it is balanced specifically to the weight of the terminal. This safely discourages using the arm or terminal as a lifting aid or support which could cause injury to the patient or ward staff, and could also cause damage to the ceiling or the terminal. The Arcos 1000 and 2000 both provide an integrated cabling management system which supplies power, signal, IP and other necessary connectivity, whilst eliminating untidy cables for a ‘wire-free’ look.

JAOtech’s Smart Terminal range is specifically designed to UL60601 standards for the hospital environment and feature a sealed construction suitable for deep cleaning. JAOtech has used innovative electronic design and creative heat dissipation including the use of the support arm to minimise heat creation within the unit. All terminals are offered with a full package of peripherals including a VoIP phone, magstripe / smart card readers, high resolution camera for patient monitoring, biometrics, barcode scanner and a wireless keyboard.
