Redhill, UK, 7 July 2008 – JAOtech has added an optional hybrid RFID scanner and smart card reader to its range of multimedia Smart Terminals to make the identification of medical staff quick, easy and secure, for access to clinical records at the bedside.

 

Smart card readers are ideal for managing a pre-payment solution and are already available integrated on the underside of the terminal for the patients’ ease of use. The addition of an RFID scanner provides medical staff with a separate and secure identification process which does not require the patient to remove their card from the reader.

 

Specifically designed to UL60601 standards, JAOtech Smart Terminals are ideal for hygienic hospital ward environments, and feature a sealed construction which is suitable for deep cleaning with standard hospital detergents. JAOtech has a flexible design approach and the terminals are built to specification and can be customised to suit individual requirements, including colour. Various mounting options are also available to allow flexible installation in any environment.
