Meeting all the strict and essential standards associated with a medical environment, JAOtech’s range of Smart Terminals™ are flexible for many applications.

In a hospital environment the JAOtech Smart Terminal™ is located at the patient’s bedside providing a patient entertainment system as well as a handy clinical access point. There is also the flexibility to integrate this with the hospital information system (HIS) 

The Smart Terminals™ manufactured by JAOtech enable the patient to view terrestrial, satellite and cable television from their bed. Other features include movies on-demand, radio, talking books and internet access. Patients will also be provided with a unique bed extension number enabling them to dial and receive IP telephone calls effortlessly. An individual code is held by the patient on a smart card. This card provides access to other terminals if a patient is moved from bed to bed and will configure the user profile for the patient if they need to log on to another Smart Terminal™.

Additionally, JAOtech can work with existing hospital HIS software companies or third party integrators. Enabling us to ensure that the HIS application is manipulated and configured within the terminal application and providing the consultants and doctors access to patient records at the patient bedside. This secure system can be accessed through many of the terminals peripheral devices, such as Biometric finger print recognition, keyboard log on (wireless or cabled), magnetic swipe card or smartcard access.
